There has always been a conflict existing among digital photographers as to the superiority of the RAW format images over the other basic formats like JPG or GIF. Though these differences are hardly considered important by amateur photographers, they are considered and taken very seriously by professionals, as they give more importance to the photos taken by them on their camera. Though there seems to be visually no difference between these two formats, they really do have a lot of differences, some of which are advantages, while others are disadvantages between the two. In this article, we will try and discuss the differences, and the advantages between the two.

The first noticeable difference that we can see between the two formats is in terms of the file size. The RAW format files are usually seen to have a large file size which turns out to be one of their main disadvantages. However, this is due to the raw data that they hold, which can be considered helpful for some people.

The second difference is in terms of the compression of data that takes place. There is almost no compression that takes place in RAW files, while there is a high degree of compression that occurs on the non RAW formats like JPG which compress the image, thereby reducing the clarity of the image to some extent.

However, photo loss is something that is common to both file types and the need for a photo recovery tool is something that cannot be completely avoided. The only difference is when the user has to choose between photo recovery Mac software and a windows photo recovery tool, depending on the OS being used by him.

Now-a-days, the digital cameras support three types of memory cards, including SD (Secure Digital), SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity), and MMC (MultiMediaCard). These three storage devices save photographs, audios, and videos in the form of digital data. The data saved on these memory cards become inaccessible, if the card gets corrupted. However, in such cases when the data stored on the media is lost due to corruption, you need to use advanced Photo Recovery Software.

Consider a realistic case, where your SD memory card gets corrupted due to improper shutdown of the camera. When you attempt to access the files saved in the SD card, you are unable to access those files. Whenever you try to access the data, you get the error message like “Incompatible file system. Format Card”

Corruption in card primarily occurs when you turn off the camera while the ‘busy lamp’ is on. In such cases, the camera is still accessing (performing read/write operations) the card.

To prevent the memory card corruption due to any such instance, you should follow as mentioned below:

Never remove the card when the ‘busy lamp’ is on

Never remove the battery while the ‘busy lamp’ is on

Never apply vibrations when the ‘busy lamp’ is on.

Remo Recover (Windows) Media is a powerful application to recover lost, deleted, and formatted data from any digital storage media. Software is compatible with Windows 2000 / XP / VISTA / 2003 Server Operating Systems, and supports FAT, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, NTFS5 file systems. It is having a highly interactive user interface that is so easy to use and does not require any technical knowledge to recover deleted photos from SD card. To analyze the functionalities of the software and to preview the lost files, you can download its demo version.

Many famous companies like Panasonic and Toshiba have developed a new storage device called the Secure Digital card, better known as the SD card. Their spectrum of use varies right from digital cameras and mobiles, to GPS receivers, media players and many such devices.

SD cards and other flash memory cards are just as likely to be corrupted, damaged or prone to loss of data just like any other regular hard drive. If you are thinking, that all your photos are completely gone, after you formatted the memory card, you are wrong; because, the photos are very much existent on the memory card . They are not lost and you can recover deleted photos from SD card in most cases.

Pictures are stored on memory cards as files. It occupies a given space on the memory card. When you format the card, the data present in the file is not deleted. The disk space occupied by that file is now free to be overwritten by new data.

You can use REMO Recover (Windows) Media Edition software, to recover deleted photos from SD card with utmost ease. The software not only lets you recover digital photos of all well known formats, but also lets you recover RAW image files, which are used in various professional cameras.

Digital photo recovery is the most needed form of data retrieval. It seems all of us manage to select delete occasionally instead of save. Another major cause of lost image files is unplugging or removing media cards a little too early. This almost always results in lost files. So this is what most need for data recovery has become.

Photo recovery programs from companies such as REMO have easy to use step-by-step guides that make recovering digital photos a snap.
First select the location your image files are missing from. This will be either a location on your hard drive such as C:\Folder or an external drive like E:\USB Drive. Most likely it will be a memory card holding from 1 to 8 gigabytes. On Vista and newer based computers this will be listed as exactly that, an example would be E:\SMARTcard. Using twain software your files may even be locked away in your digital camera’s internal storage. Wherever the lost files are hiding your software will be able to scan for them and present them for preview.

The next step to recover photos is to sort through the files the software has found. This can be done by simply examining the file names or using the visual preview mode on the REMO program.
