The major cause for emails being lost from a .pst file is Accidental Deletion. When you delete an email from your inbox using the DEL key, then the email moves to the Deleted Items folder. The deleted email can be easily restored from the Deleted Items folder. Simply click on the file you want to restore and move it to the inbox again. Your deleted email is restored. What if you have also deleted the email from the deleted items folder as well? Many a times we use the Shift+Del Keys to delete the emails. Those emails are not found in the Deleted Items folder.
